재담미디어가 고용노동부와 노사발전재단이 주관하는 ‘2023년 근무혁신 인센티브제 우수기업(SS등급)’에 선정됐다고 24일 밝혔다.

‘근무혁신 인센티브제 우수기업’은 참가기업이 초과근로 감축, 유연근무 확대, 일하는 방식 및 문화 개선 등을 포함한 근무혁신 계획을 자발적으로 수립 및 실천하면 전문가 평가, 현장 실사, 근로자 만족도 조사 등 다면 평가를 통해 우수기업을 선정하는 제도다. 재담미디어가 받은 SS등급은 가장 높은 등급이며 2023년 콘텐츠 업체로서는 유일하다.

웹툰 제작사 재담미디어(대표 황남용)는 웹툰 기획 제작과 IP(지식 재산권) 비즈니스에 특화한 기업으로 ‘동네변호사 조들호’, ‘크라임 퍼즐’, ‘청춘블라썸’, ‘약한영웅’, ‘너클걸’ 등 여러 웹툰에 대한 영상화를 성공적으로 이끌어냈으며, 2023년 11월 현재 웹툰 20여편의 영상화 계약이 체결돼 앞으로 TV, OTT, 영화 등 다양한 플랫폼을 통해 차례대로 공개될 예정이다.

또 한국 대표 만화가 이현세 작가와 ‘만화&웹툰 제작을 위한 AI(인공지능) 공동 기술개발 협약’을 체결해 AI 기술을 고도화시키고, 중단편 구독형 웹툰 플랫폼 ‘쇼츠’(shortz)를 2024년 상반기 오픈을 목표로 하고 있는 등 웹툰업계에 새바람을 불어 넣을 예정이다.
